Mehdy Dousty
Lost in a world of endless possibilities and imagination.

I am a postdoctoral fellow in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at the University of Toronto and the Vector Institute. I have the privilege of conducting my research under the supervision of Prof. Ervin Sejdic and Prof. David J. Fleet.

My primary research focus during my postdoc is to develop machine learning methods to predict falls in elderly adults using wearable and non-wearable technology.

Prior to that, I completed (Final defense Feb 2024) my Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at University of Toronto under supervision of Prof. Jose Zariffa and Prof. David Fleet to employ machine learning methods in egocentric video to analyze hand function in individuals with spinal cord injury. I also completed a M.Sc in Biomedical Engineering focusing on computational neuroscience with non-linear signal processing at the University of Calgary.

My research interests are:

- Wearable and non-wearable technology for falls regression.

- Hand analysis using computer vision

- Signal and Image processing

- Computational Neuroscience

- Deep clustering
